At the barber

Yesterday I got another haircut - and a big encouragement. In the past I’ve asked for prayer for José, my barber, and it appears that God is answering. The last two visits he was the one who began to talk about spiritual things.
He began by asking what my favorite part of the Bible is. He said that he has learned a lot from the parable about the 4 kinds of soil. His problem, he continued, was that he doesn’t always apply what he’s read to his daily life. I told him that was my problem too.
I mentioned the inductive method of studying the Bible. When the booklet we are preparing is finished I will ask him what he things of it.
Please pray with me that José will come to believe in Jesus as is described in Colossians: “He is the image of the invisible God...He created all things in heaven and on earth...He existed before everything and holds everything together.”
I know that if José keeps reading the Bible the Holy Spirit will lead him into the truth.
Other things I learned at the barber:
–I was hoping José could tell me where to get a razor strop, so I can put a good edge on my new wood carving tools. It turns out that barbers have to use disposable razors for hygenic reasons. He had no idea where I could get one. I’ll keep looking, or use the old wide leather belt a friend offered.
–Unicaja, the local pro basketball team, lost N’Dong and Cabezas to other teams and are choosing not to spend the money to replace them with quality players. It doesn’t look like a good year for Unicaja. José has seasons tickets.
–Both José and I wish we were more patient with our families.
